Digital Printing with Offset Quality Comes to Schneider Graphics

Recently, we installed our new Indigo digital press, allowing us to expand the types of print projects we can do for you.

We spent a lot of time doing our homework because, quite frankly, we haven’t been overly impressed with the quality produced by many digital presses. However, the Indigo press is the closest to offset quality we’ve seen. And, it allows us to do some really great things.

Here are just a few of the benefits:

  • It’s a six-color press with the ability to print true spot PMS and brand colors
  • We can print on a wide variety of substrates: coated, uncoated, dark, transparent, metallic and synthetics
  • It can handle thick substrates  — from 3pt to 16pt board
  • White ink!
  • Security printing: ElectroInk UV red creating print that is only visible under UV light

We’re very excited about this new addition! We’ve been keeping it quite busy and look forward to showing you what it can do very soon.

Schneider Graphics Opens a New Facility in Lake Zurich

Schneider Graphics is pleased to announce the opening of our new 22,000 square foot facility in Lake Zurich. Open since late February, the new plant has been a welcome change for everyone.

“We were leasing our old space and when it came time to do some much needed upgrades, we decided our best bet was to start from the ground up,” said Greg Schneider, president of Schneider Graphics.

“We designed a building that will help us be more efficient, modernize our technology and create a space that’s exactly what we want. We’re excited to be here and we look forward to showing off our new home soon.”

Chicago Architecture: Our 17-Color 2014 Calendar

We may have gone a little overboard with this year’s Schneider Graphics calendar, but we couldn’t be happier with the result.

The 2014 calendar features Chicago architecture and was printed using 17 colors. Yes, you read that right — 4-color process, 2 PMS colors and 11 metallic PMS colors. And, a spot gloss varnish thrown in for good measure.

The beautiful photography, the elaborate printing and of course our attention to detail helped create a piece that we’re really proud of.

It’s not too late to get a copy. Just ask us!

What does our FSC® certification mean?

The Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC) is an organization that promotes responsible management of the world’s forests. It’s members include stakeholders who rely on forest resources, but want to make sure they are used in an environmental and sustainable fashion. Only seven percent of the world’s productive forests are FSC certified.

Obviously, we go through a lot of paper. But we don’t believe in being wasteful. And, we want to make sure this renewable resource is well-protected for generations to come.

As a commercial printer with FSC certification, we are part of the “chain of custody” that ensures FSC standards have been used from the time a tree is logged until your printed material arrives at your doorstep. We are regularly audited to make sure we are meeting their high standards.

If you use FSC certified paper and an FSC certified printer (us of course!), it entitles you to add the FSC logo to your next print piece (we just have to submit it for an easy approval process).

Several of our customers are already doing this, but if you need more information, just ask!
